Q?What is Functional Fitness?
A.

Functional fitness is a way of training that increases your output and efficiency during everyday movements. It is Common movements that you do throughout your day at home at work or during sport. Functional fitness has a big focus on core while combining coordinated movements to get your muscles working together.

Q?What is Team Training?
A.

Team training is functional fitness orientated personal training in a group environment (6-20) working at your own individual fitness level performing different movements all in the same movement pattern to all achieve one end goal, IMPROVEMENT! Fun, energetic, motivating team training is results driven, and as such each session is different and more challenging than the last to keep you moving towards your goals.

Q?What is Small Group Training?
A.

Small group training is personal training in a group (2-4) working at your own individual fitness level performing different movements all in the same movement pattern to all achieve one end goal, IMPROVEMENT! Fun, energetic, motivating small group is more personal and hands on with your coach and it is very results driven, and as such each session is different and more challenging than the last to keep you moving towards your goals! With a focus on strength and functional fitness  and the guidance of your coach enjoy working out with your friends and family while still focusing on your own individual goals!

Q?How can Personal Training benefit me?

Be held accountable for your training, while having a dedicated exercise professional lead you in your fitness journey! Highly qualified and full of experience our team of trainers can help you no matter what your goals are, short or long term! From nutrition to training the coach is your guide and mentor on your journey to a new you.

Q?What is an exercise physiologist?
A.

ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) describes the role of the exercise physiologist as follows:

“Accredited exercise physiologists (AEP) specialise in clinical exercise interventions for persons at high risk of developing, or with existing chronic and complex medical conditions and injuries. These interventions are provided by exercise delivery including health and physical activity education, advice and support; and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change.

The aims of AEP interventions are to prevent or manage chronic disease or injury, and assist in restoring one’s optimal physical function health and wellness.”

How is an Exercise Physiologist different to a Personal Trainer?

An exercise physiologist is a recognised allied health professional who is qualified to provide advice and exercise rehabilitation for people with complex health needs. All exercise physiologists must have a four year university degree and extensive practical experience in order to be accredited with ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia). If an integrated treatment approach is required, the exercise physiologist will liaise with other health professionals involved in your treatment.

Q?What is MyZone?

MYZONE® is a chest strap and monitoring system that transmits heart rate, calories and effort in real time to a live display and wirelessly uploads that data to a logbook that can be accessed online or through the free MYZONE® Lite App. Get it at iTunes or Google Play.

MYZONE® is the only exercise tracking system in the world that is able to provide real-time feedback of exercise intensity as well as wirelessly upload exercise data that has been stored, making the technology simple and convenient for everyone to use.

MYZONE® collects data to the benefit of physical activity stakeholders, and enables health & fitness professionals to stay connected with their users.

Q?What are your opening hours?
A.

We are open 7 days a week!

Monday – Thursday 9am–9pm
Friday 9am–8pm
Saturday 8am–4pm
Sunday 9am–1pm

Q?Do you have a crèche?
A.

We do! We have a great team of ladies who make Lifesport not only your favourite place, but your child’s favourite place to be! The crèche is open 9am-12pm Monday – Saturday. Please note, Saturday’s require a booking.

Q?I’ve heard about your coffee lounge! – Tell me more
A.

Our coffee lounge is our members (…and staff) chill out zone. Equipped with coffee facilities 7 days a week, fresh newspapers and a continental breakfast Monday – Friday, we love the community atmosphere the lounge brings and we know you will too!

Q?If I need help at Lifesport, do you have staff on hand?
A.

We pride ourselves on being one of very few clubs in WA who are staffed. We have a member of our team in the club every hour that we are open. Front office staff are on hand 9am-9pm and over the weekend.

Q?What makes the 8-week challenge so great?
A.

The 8-week Challenge is an absolute blast! Our clients love completing our Challenges. We focus on quality training, simple, fuss-free nutrition programs, tonnes of support and loads of fun. The Challenge is motivating because we focus on making the training enjoyable, challenging but very rewarding. You can get all the details here.

Q?Do I have to be a member to complete the 8-Week Challenge?
A.

No you don’t. The Challenge is open to both members and non-members. You can choose to just participate in the Challenge for the 8 weeks. Of course we’d love to think that at the end of the challenge you’ll be so happy with your progress that you’ll stick around for more Lifesport training – But the decision is entirely yours!
